Public Health Infrastructure Support Letter
Letter of support for DC Health’s Strengthening U.S. Public Health Infrastructure, Workforce, and Data Systems (CDC-RFA-OE22-2203) application. As the public health department for the District of Columbia, DC Health serves as the Chief Health Strategist for the nation’s capital. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in tremendous stress on our public health workforce, infrastructure, and the overall healthcare system. The physical, mental, and psychological toll of the pandemic has contributed to high rates of turnover in the district, and the national capital region, leading to record high vacancy rates in critical healthcare roles and fractured public health infrastructure.
