The District of Columbia Hospital Association works to advance hospitals and health systems in the District by promoting policies and initiatives that strengthens our system of care.
DCHA member hospitals and associate members are committed to foster a culture of quality and patient safety that drives positive health outcomes for patients, staff and the community. DCHA supports and drives collective solutions among its membership to target quality improvements and to document and elevate the quality profile of District hospitals through:
Dissemination of best practices by facilitating learning and innovations to improve health care quality, safety and service across the District of Columbia.
Identifying resources and convening multi-stakeholder coalitions focused on developing and implementing improvement initiatives for the hospitals, other health care stakeholders and the community.
Documenting member quality and patient safety performance improvement efforts to elevate the quality profile of the District’s hospitals in continuing their delivery of positive health outcomes.
DCHA and its members identify resources and coordinate multi-stakeholder coalitions to leverage the collective expertise to plan, develop and implement comprehensive improvement initiatives that drive positive health outcomes for patients, staff and the community.
Advisory role on the identification of priorities that lead to DC hospitals becoming recognized leaders in high quality, safe, and innovative patient care.
To address the emerging behavioral health crisis in DC; align and amplify the collective impact of key stakeholders through coordinated action; promote measurable and sustainable solutions.
Utilize the health information exchange system to improve care coordination across health systems and reduce readmissions.
Our network of clinical teams, public health experts and community stakeholders come together to participate in data-driven, clinical quality improvement initiatives to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.
To reduce use, misuse and related deaths; establish and implement Emergency Department Medication Assisted Treatment in DC hospitals; and, identify and provide access to immediate substance use treatment.
Publish best practices from DC hospitals and the health care community.
