Highlights
Analysis of utilization metrics shows a decrease of emergency department visits currently 22% below pre-COVID-19 baseline. An increase of observation was noted at 14% above pre-COVID-19 baseline along with an increase of psychiatric admissions that went from 24% to 14% below the baseline. Moreover, this month, specialty hospitals saw their highest admissions for the 15-month period as depicted in Table 4 of the report, with the Psychiatric Institute of Washington and BridgePoint Hospital National Harbor both seeing their highest admissions over the 15-month period.
