The District of Columbia Hospital Association (DCHA) awarded its 2021 Patient Safety & Quality Awards recognizing two exceptional individuals and seven teams participating in the DCHA poster competition. The individuals and teams were recognized at DCHA’s Virtual Patient Safety and Quality Summit. Individual winners were presented with a $2,500 prize, the Gold team winner was awarded a $5,000 prize and the Silver winners received $2,500, thanks to support from Ascension. The award winners were chosen from 30+ nominees by a panel of independent judges from the health care industry.
DCHA presented awards to two individuals; one clinical professional and one non-clinical professional who are risking their lives on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic and who exemplify:
DCHA’s Patient Safety & Quality Service Superstars demonstrate great courage and creativity to make outstanding contributions to deliver compassionate, high-quality and safe patient care during the pandemic.

DCHA presented awards to seven hospital teams of health care providers that presented their original work. The purpose of the competition is to stimulate systematic investigation by medical professionals, provide a venue to share innovative and effective educational programs, showcase unique community projects, and encourage networking among medical peers with similar interests.
